In loving memory of Smudgey - our little princess
Smudgey: Glowing in moonbeam
A shaft of moonlight spotlights your white fur
as you nudged yourself closer and closer
to daddy - becoming interwoven curls.
You always enjoyed human company,
But, Mr. Meep not so much
Alas he was smitten by your moxie and self confident charm
You rebuffed his advances, but were never that mean.
Your white landscape broken only by blue eyes and little pink bits,
Always wanting to be with us
Meeting strangers at the door,
You were always so cute and funny, never a bore.
Greeting us each morning with your sweet meow hello,
And ending the day in the warm moonbeam glow.
We will never forget you,
forever in our hearts,
Sweet little Princess Smudgey.

It was so sad to hear about Smudgey...
She was such a sweet and beautiful kitty being. Laura P. and I are very sorry for your loss, and we are with you in your sadness.
We are honored to have been able to be with Smudgey this past Memorial Day weekend. She was a moonbeam on the bed as we nodded off, with the lava lamp still burning in the background. I will keep that image in my mind for a long time. Thank you for your images and poem, Randy. They are truly beautiful.
I have asked our kitty Whitty to channel a bit with Smudgey's little spirit, wherever it may be. Surely she'll be back in some form. Until then, Mr. Meep will just have to be patient...
We send you our condolences, and are keeping you in our hearts.
With much love,
Laura C. and Laura P.
